Focus Entertainment has paid an undisclosed amount to acquire the legendary shooter devs WW1 Game Series from M2H. Set on the Italian Front, Isonzo actually happens to be out tomorrow. Check out the game, which has a slew of bugs here.
Jos Hoebe, the founder and creative director of WW1 Game Series, will retain a 33.33% share in the company. Hell will continue to run the studio, which will now go by BlackMill instead. Today, Hoebe said he planned his small team of 15 to benefit from Focus''s record with the FPS genre.
"I''m so proud and excited for the upcoming arrival of Isonzo, and by partnering with Focus Entertainment, which is a larger and more experienced partner, for the series to reach its full potential," Hoebe said. "The fans of our games can expect the same dedication and passion that we have had over ten years with Verdun and Tannenberg, but elevated to new heights with Isonzo and this partnership."
Isonzo takes place on the Italian front, putting the Austro-Hungarian Empire to the task. The game, like BlackMills'' earlier military shooters, is similar to that of Verdun and Tannenberg, but it introduces a new Offensive mode with multi-map encounters.
Fraser Brown was pushed down for our Tannenberg review back in 2017. While war shooters are typically dealing with bombasts and screaming and artillery barrages, Tannenberg said. It was also a bit more comfortable than Verdun. Still, Verdun once had a Christmastime map for it that mimicked the fabled footballing truce between Britain and Germany, so I can see where he''s coming from.
Isonzo will be available on PC tomorrow, September 13th, from Steam and the Epic Games Store. It''s also coming to consoles.
