Talk Games: How Much Did It Cost To Make Vs How Much It Made

It is always interesting, at least for me, to see a games number in terms of financial costs. I am sure that other people will be interested in this part of the game development.

Several games cost an x amount of money but did not make the same amount when they were launched. However, some games made twice the amount of money when they were released. I discovered a piece of very helpful information that demonstrates the exact amount of cost versus the amount of money spent after the game was released, so I decided to share it with you.

The first game that caught my attention was Red Dead Redemption 2. The game supposedly cost $370 million to make, and after its release, it made around $1.38 billion back in 2018. The next game, which is a fan-favorite, is Uncharted 4. This game required $40 million to be completed, and after its release, it raised around $1 billion.

Marvel Spider-Man is a big name in this game, which included $100 million to develop, and when it was released, it became a total worth $6.8 billion. Wow, what a number. Elden Ring is the game that caused the most controversy around its release, but it raised $6.85 billion, while it cost $200 million to develop.

I almost forgot to mention the one that brought me the most to trouble. Fortnite required $300k to be developed, and as you can see, other games numbers rose to millions, even billions. However, when Fortnite was released, it made more than $10 million. Yes, you read that right, 10 million dollars.

If you have any other information about this, please share it with us in the comments below. Also, which game is worth the numbers? Why?
