Electronic Arts and Koei Tecmo have announced that the companies will work together to develop a new hunting game. The Koei Tecmos Omega Force brand will develop the AAA-tier game in a fantasy feudal Japanese setting. Electronic Arts will publish it under the EA Originals label.
According to the executive vice president of Koei Tecmo Games, Electronic Arts will provide support in both development and publishing. The latter will also assist in the development of the new game, according to the Japanese company. This is not the first time Koei Tecmo and Electronic Arts had worked together in 2004, when the first Western versions of the game were published.
Omega Force had previously developed several hunting action games with a feudal Japanese theme, namely the series. It first launched for PlayStation Portable and Vita in June 2013 in Japan and in February 2014 in the West. Both will now be available on PlayStation 4 and PCs.
Kenichi Ogasawara, the creator of The Omega Force, disclosed his desire to produce a. However, Ogasawara would later leave the Kou Shibusawas team to work on the new game. This news release stated that this new game will be an original IP, so it is unknown whether the new title will follow the series'' path or not.
In the latter half of September 2022, the company will disclose more details about this new collaborative game, according to a press release from Koei Tecmos.
