In season 5, you''ll spend more lazy hours with enthusiastic anglers and good friends Bob Mortimer, 63, and Paul Whitehouse, 64, as the comedy stars sit by riverbanks hoping for a laugh while treating us to their chats about life and comedy careers.

"We visit new places the River Exe in Devon, the River Mole in Surrey, and Corrib in Ireland, which we''ve ever experienced, according to Paul. "We all feel in need of warm weather," he says.

"This series is actually a bit more joyous and funnier than some of the previous episodes," Bob says. Ted [the Patterdale terrier, who belongs to the show''s executive producer, Lisa Clark, is much more involved.

Feargal Sharkey, a singer and environmental activist, is also making a return appearance. "He comes on to us to explain the condition of the rivers and the sewage and everything that has now become quite useful," says Bob.

Both Bob and Paul have suffered from heart problems in the past, and their health is a frequent topic of discussion in this fifth series.

"We have a lot of heart wellness every week," Bob says. "And Dr Anand Patel will be back to us once more to discuss obesity and the causes of your heart."

The release date for Mortimer and Whitehouse Gone Fishing Season 5 has been announced.

Season 5 will air on BBC2 on Friday September 9 at 9pm. There will be two BBC2 transmission episodes, along with a new international or US release date.

Paul and Bob travel to the Scottish Highlands with a slew of bags to get to see the famous Loch Ness Monster again. After a while, they discover what the hell they would have used. After a while of champagne, they look for a smile. Then they try to see him at the restaurant. They then discover how much he or she would have done.
