The Xbox app on PC has been added to the website HowLongToBeat in a fresh update.
If you haven''t used it before, HowLongToBeat is a community-run website where people can track how long it took them to beat a certain game. The times are then averaged to provide a rough estimation of the game''s expected length.
It''s by no means scientific, but it''s a nifty way of ballparking how much time you might need to finish a game''s narrative before you commit to playing (or purchasing) it.
Microsoft has appointed HowLomgToBeat''s functionality and has now collaborated with the site to display its statistics in the Xbox app on PC, according to a official blog post.
According to Microsoft, the averaged playtimes appear on the detailed page for a game, where you can see times for the various categories.
I went to see how long others could have used Yakuza 0. The first playthrough was certainly longer than the average of 31 hours calculated just for the main story, but I did spend an awful amount of time attempting to git gud at Mahjong.
You may view the full breakdown of statistics by clicking on the view details at the top right left displayed times. If you wish, the HowLongToBeat website will have you covered.
It''s extremely beneficial to have a certain sort of benchmark of how long a game has taken others, especially if you''ve got full-time commitments who have little time to spare in a world filled with live services and expansive open-world games.
