Today''s Wordle is now the time to get the answer. The word is...

Ah, the humble stick. The tree''s cut offshoot. Too large to be considered a mere twig, but dwarfed by their more huge cousin, the branch. I''m pretty sure I''ll skip to the section where I''ll just skip to today''s Wordle reply to anyone who hasn''t played. Let''s get yours. Good?

How to play Wordle

Wordle is a very straightforward word guessing game. Each guess will show green if they''re in the correct position, or yellow if they''re in the wrong place. If a letter does not appear in the solution word at all, it''ll remain unhighlighted.

You can begin to narrow down the correct word by discovering which letters are included in the word and in which positions they belong. Head over to the Wordle site to try it for yourself. Just remember: There is only one Wordle puzzle available per day, so if you want to play again, you''ll have to wait until tomorrow.

How did Wordle begin?

After a little tweaking, Wordle began his life as a family game developed by Josh Wardle. During the pandemic, he decided to create a fun little word game, and quickly realized that there was something quite special in this simple little guessing game. So, Wardle released it to the public on his website, Power Language.

The game was first published in October 2021, and by the end of the year the game had two million daily players. It became a viral hit, owing in large part to the ease with which players could share their findings in a spoiler-free manner on Twitter and other social media sites. In January 2022, Wardle accepted an offer to purchase Wordle for a seven-figure sum. Gut done, Mr Wardle.

Are any Wordle words not allowed?

You may type in a few five-letter words in the English language, and Wordle will make it a guess. Nevertheless, the answer is chosen every day from a much smaller list of more common five-letter words. Although there are still tens of thousands of possible answers, it implies that the answer will never be a word as obscure as, say, "THIOL" or "CAIRD," or "MALIC." (Yes, these are all real words).

The New York Times will choose not to publish several words as Wordle''s answer from the day, perhaps for reasons related to recent news or politics. For example, shortly after news that Roe v Wade might be overturned in the United States, the NYT decided to change the term "FETUS" to "SHINE." As a result, the word "fetus" was considered a politically charged word.

The New York Times has always been wary not to permit what they believe to be rude words as the answer to a Wordle puzzle. But, of course, there''s nothing stopping you from using even the most dirtiest of words as guesses as long as they''re accepted words in the dictionary, and as long as you realize that they''ll never end up being the answer.

Is Wordle getting too easy for you?

If Wordle is becoming more complicated, there are a few methods you can use to make the game more challenging for yourself. The first option is to turn on Hard Mode. This means that any highlighted letters will be used in all future guesses. This avoids you from using the common tactic of choosing two words like "OUNCE" and "PAINS."

You may take it further notch by playing using what we call "Ultra-Hard" rules. This means that every guess you enter may be the answer. If you were just playing Hard Mode, and you typed "MOIST" and the "O" appeared yellow, then nothing would stop you from making "POLAR" as your next word, even though you already know the "O" is in the wrong place. You must follow all of your clues and make sure every word you enter is potentially the answer.

If Wordle is still too complicated for you, then you may always try one of the many other Wordle-inspired games online that have expanded in the past year. Worldle, in which you must define a country in the world based on its shape, has also been Waffle, which has prompted you to create an entire film in a few minutes, and challenges you to do so in six guesses. Quordle, in turn, helps you solve four Wordles at once with the same values.
