My legs have been working on VR for a long time, but when legendary flatscreen VR modder Raicuparta approached me with a preview build of his Neon White VR mod, I must admit I was quite depressed.
I thought that a lightning-fast game like this would propel me over the edge. Nevertheless, I realized that non-traditional VR was a complete pleasure to have (for me - newcomers to VR beware!) but it also sounded like the perfect "one more go" VR game.
In this week''s episode of VR Corner, you can see me demonstrate how this mod affects Neon White''s gameplay, whether flat or not.
If you''ve already watched the video, then you''ll know that Rai''s mod has also included motion controls, and these are fully mapped to any motion controllers you choose to use. This is a fantastic feat that is enhanced by the addition of certain free-to-use weapon models for the player to hold.
Rai has increased the immersion even further by distributing something to the player and shoot with. This combination with the 6DoF view gives you much greater spatial awareness and freedom of movement compared to the flat version of the game, putting you in Neon White''s special tumultuous place.
The Neon White VR mod will be available sometime in the next few days, but if you head on over to Raicuparta''s website right now, you should be able to learn more when you can get it for yourself.
