Microsoft has released the Xbox One and Series console update for September, and it has some really nice and helpful features.

The Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 version is available for download in September. With a complete library upgrade, you can have additional storage and default installation options.

When it comes to color on your Series 2 controller, you may select from a wide variety of shades that combine red, blue, and green LEDs to produce more than 16 million shades of light. Not a bad number of choices.

While the controller is connected, open the Xbox Accessories app on your console or PC, select a new profile, or create a new one, then select the Color tab to see the full range of color options. From here you may even change the brightness, use the menu sliders to see all color options, or use Hex Code to create the exact color you want.

It''s now easier to access games and apps on your Xbox One or Xbox Series console because the My games and apps Full library view has been redesigned, revealing all of the games you own, as well as any games you have access to with your current subscriptions and claimed Games with Gold. You also have easy access to catalogs of your subscriptions, editorial content, and all of your apps.

The update also allows you to select different default storage locations for your games and apps. For accessing this, select Change installation locations if you have external drives or a storage expansion card attached. You may choose a specific drive as an installation location, or Let Xbox choose the location for the fastest drive with space.

Xbox Game Bar on PC now has a shared link for any capture you want, including via SMS, WhatsApp, Twitter, and other means. If your settings are set to Public, press the mouse to capture the game. Then, click the copy link at the bottom of any selected gaming capture in the gallery.

Party chat noise suppression is now available on Xbox One consoles and Windows 10/11 PCs. It was previously announced for Xbox Series X/S and the possibility is now available to everyone. This feature lets you notice less unwanted noises and interruptions as it helps remove games like breathing and background noise.

There is also a new "Start Party" button on the Xbox app. This means you no longer need to create a party from scratch each time. Simply search for the Parties option on the Social tab, then check the list of recent parties, and restart from there, or even create a new one by selecting your friends you want to invite.

Untold that while this update isn''t included, it''s being reported that last month''s update eliminated the one-time online check that would occur when sliding an Xbox One disc into an Xbox Series X console.

Microsoft removed the check for older Xbox One titles and selected Smart Delivery discs back in August. According to Ars Technica, Xbox''s engineering lead confirmed the removal was included in the 2208 updates. Nevertheless, backward-compatible discs from consoles older than Xbox One require online access and must be downloaded on the newer systems to be played.
