Whats in a name?

Fans of Sega and RGG Studio bombarded the community with exciting news about non-new titles in the dramatic RPG series, but also revealed some long-awaited news on the lost-in-translation side series,.. erm!

Sega announced that it is officially adopting the branding as part of its original Japanese title (a closer approximation of their original Japanese title) for all releases in the near future. No additional titles will be granted the name in any of their English localizations as part of this cavalcade of series news.

The first game to feature the west was the 2020s, which had chosen the new name to help distinguish it from the Kazuma Kiryu adventures that had come before. However, with Sega''s official appropriation of the original title, this will now be the final game to bear the name. This coincides with the departure of series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi.

For those who missed last weeks headlines, Sega and RGG Studio announced a long-awaited western remake of the 2014 period adventure which is pretty impressive. In addition, the designers dropped a teaser trailer for, which will see Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga as two protagonists. A side-story will depict the events that forced Kiryu to return to the streets of Kamurocho.

It took the franchise a long time to establish itself in the mainstream, and now it appears that there is no going back. So, get ahead, folks, there are still plenty more bicycles to sell.
