After defeating Bryan Danielson at the Grand Slam Tournament Champions, Jon Moxley finished ahead of CM Punk in the finals. Unfortunately, after failing to honor his title win in the post-PPV press conference, Punk reacted to all of his concerns about Colt Cabana, The Elite, and Hangman Adam Page, which resulted in a backstage brawl that forced Punk, the Young Bucks, and Tony Khan to strip him of the title.
Moxley and Danielson dominated the Grand Slam, and Moxley put Danielson to sleep to win the belt. MJF, who holds a casino chip granting him a match for the AEW Championship at a time of his choice, saw the match from a clubhouse seat in the Arthur Ashe stadium. will continue with a two-hour edition of AEW Rampage later this week.
