Resident Evil Village now has a Chris RedfieldDLC

The long-awaited new chapter in Resident Evil Village is getting closer to its publication, but it had already been quite different.

What we''re getting is a DLC package called Winters Expansion, which will include a third-person mode for the base game, a rework of the Mercenaries Mode, and new playable characters such as Lady Dimitrescu, as well as the new story-based chapter called Shadows of Rose.

Shadows of Rose will shine as Ethan Winters'' daughter enters the spotlight. This, according to Capcom, will conclude the Winters family story. However, Rose was not always going to be the focus of this story DLC. Instead, Capcom also had ideas for a Chris Redfield expansion.

According to Dusk Golem, an industry insider, if this idea had been discovered, we would have seen a story about Chris'' mental wellbeing following Village''s events. He would have been exhibited to be "going somewhat mad from the [craps and] guilt" that he now consumes.

Capcom, however, decided to put this idea on the back burner instead of focusing on Rose''s story, which she described as delivering a "meaty... and worthy conclusion" for Ethan''s family.

According to Dusk Golem, the director of Resident Evil Village explained that this story would "best meet the expectations of users." He added that a lot of feedback on Village''s story saw players reflecting on the family''s transition and expressing the way the game "moved" its players.

(1/??) Thanks to my wonderful friend @Carabina360 for sending me a few brief messages from them. First interview: wanted RE8''s Third-Person Mode to be of the same format.

The entire Winters Expansion DLC will be included in the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition, which will be available simultaneously on consoles on 28th October.
