In the next installment, you''ll be able to build houses from scratch.

For as many granular simulation games as we know these days, it is not uncommon to see a complete-on numbered sequel. However, 2018s broke through with three million copies sold across PC and consoles, and that was enough for to get the green light. Heres our first look at gameplay, which includes a surprisingly less basic art style.

I liked the original game for what it was, but ended up craving a more complete experience with a larger scope. So, cleaning up nasty properties and renovating them is a concept that almost sells itself in the simulation space, so im happy to see the developers at Frozen District try again, presumably with more runway this time.

The big change: There will be a Sandbox mode in which you can build homes from scratch rather than just consolidate existing ones.

I feel like increasing number of people are giving these kinds of games a chance. As some publishers take a shotgun approach to sorting out the next big sim subject matter (with plenty of duds in the process), the quality bar seems to be rising.

If I am honest, Id play a simple home-cleaning simulator, its oddly relaxing! but having a well-rounded renovation and home-building loop will go a long way.

Steam will begin working on Steam in 2023, and both PlayStation and Xbox versions are planned.
