Suspect: Whats the story?

Danny Frater (James Nesbitt) discovers the young woman on the slab is his daughter, Christina, who was murdered and is on the lookout for her killer.

Suspect: Whos in it?

James Nesbitt is led by an all-star cast for this thrilling thriller. Joely Richardson (), who plays pathologist Jackie Sowden, Anne-Marie Duff, and Danny''s ex-wife Susannah, is joined on-screen by Richard E. Grant, who plays Harry Carr, a business manager.

Niamh Algar (), as Christinas partner, Antonia Thomas () as lap-dancing club manager Maia, Sacha Dhawan () as drug dealer Jaisal, Sam Heughan () as Dannys ex-police partner Ryan, and Ben Miller () as Dannys'' former manager.

James reveals that "Danny" is a very complex, difficult, sad, and disgruntled man who we discover in a terrible state. When he sees Christinas dead body in the mortuary, it re-ignites both the copper and the father in him as he seeks to discover the truth about his daughter.

"We learn that Danny didn''t fulfill his duties as a father or as a husband," says Danny, who believes he put his daughter down. Danny walked away from all responsibility; to his ex-wife, his daughter, his job, and himself. This is his last chance at redemption."

Suspect: What sets it apart from other crime dramas?

Unlike other cop shows, the series is divided into eight half-hour episodes, with a different character playing opposite James in each installment.

Danny, who was close to his daughter Christina and who might have played a role in her her death, is seen sharing an intense conversation with a two-hander.

James recalls the thrill of filming the scenes:

"As an actor, youre always strives for something that will challenge you," he says. ''They were tremendously help me by their own talent. They were each getting in for one episode, but they all took it so seriously.

"Because there are only two of you, you have to trust one other, which lends itself to a process that is particularly distressing, but very real. All of them boosted an authenticity, a truth, and a voice to their character, which made it easy for me to show off them. "It felt simple."
