Forecasts for Greys Anatomy Season 19: Our 5 Most Powerful Theories

Fans are drafting several theories regarding what may happen in the coming episodes of season 19, especially if it be clear that Ellen Pompeo will have a lower role in the program. However, the audience isnt sure whether or not they should be preparing to say goodbye to Meredith Grey or simply see you later.

After hearing the online chat, doing some research and using our own knowledge of the series, we''ve developed our own thoughts about what we anticipate will happen in Season 19. If you had a chance to read our season 18 finale predictions, youll know that they were excellent at reading producers.

Here are our predictions.

1.Meredith leaves Grey Sloan to go soul-search

Despite Ellen Pompeo''s commitment to film an upcoming Hulu series, we cannot believe that season 19 will be Merediths farewell. For starters, Deadline (opens in a new tab) recently reported that Pompeo confirmed that viewers will still feel her presence throughout the season as shell continue doing the voiceovers in the episodes.

Pompeo emphasized that shell will reprise its roles in the season 19 finale and stated, "Well see if we can keep it going." When he discussed her future on the show, hear for yourself.

With all of that said, were making the bold prediction that to address Pompeos'' temporary absence on Meredith would leave for some soul searching. Richard (James Pickens Jr.) positively compared Meredith to her mother in the season 18 finale and accused her of wanting to tear down the hospital after taking a risk that killed a patient.

While she has been appointed interim surgeon of surgery at Grey Sloan Memorial, we believe Richards'' words will impact her. With one bad surgery and a fatal outcome, everyone''s favorite doctor will go out in search of a fresh perspective in life. (Meredith would not be new in the s world, as viewers should recall when Derek departed the hospital in season 5)

2.Addison stays on staff at the hospital just long enough for the residency program to get on its feet.

Grey Sloan was somewhat short-staffed by Teddy (Kim Raver) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) on the run from the authorities, Miranda (Chandra Wilson) deciding to leave and Richard resigning. The hospital might employ a few people.

Addison Montgomery will reprise his role in season 19 of this summer (opens in a new tab).

Addison has met with Grey Sloan several times since she was diagnosed with depression due to illness. Despite being in a shady love relationship with Derek (Patrick Dempsey) years ago, we anticipate she and Meredith to return to help her former foe in a rush. Just until the hospital reestablises a solid foundation, Addison continues to climb several times.

3.Miranda reclaims her job

Miranda has taken a break from Grey Sloan, but we believe she will continue to serve as surgeon and on her terms. Hospital personnel should be cautious. Gone are the days when illegally medicated people off the books, when interns made knee-jerk decisions when treating patients and residents as if they knew best. Miranda will run a tighter ship with the mindset that her family is her family, and her employees are her employees.

During her previous tenure, the relationship between family and coworkers was often blurred and ended up not serving Miranda well in the long run. We believe that shell continue to help the program rank back among the best in the country. What we cant predict here is if her new approach will have some detrimental consequences for her future relationship with her mentor Richard.

4.Owen faces trial and receives consequences

Given that Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver have returned to Greys for season 19, the subject has come to mind: how do writers respond to the fact that Owen and Teddy are on the run for the crimes he committed last season?

Wed venture to say that viewers will see a few episodes in which the couple is hiding out in a house compliments of one of their old military buddies. Eventually however, theyll realize that life on the run is not good for their kids, and Owen will accept the duties of cops.

As he clears his name, Owen will next meet himself in the midst of a criminal court case. Longtime fans will remember that when Meredith was on trial for insurance fraud, she managed to beat the charges against her and returned to medicine. We do not believe Owen will face the same fate.

While we do not believe hell will be serving a long term term in prison, we do believe his medical license will be temporarily suspended.

5.Season 1 of the new influx of interns reminds fans of the start.

Given the number of new interns hired to cast (Alexis Floyd, Niko Terho, Midori Francis, and Harry Shum Jr.) and the fact that they all got hired as interns, WTW believes it''s important to see some of the program''s success while investigating the show''s vets. Although producers aware that viewers are familiar with the drama to catch up with the light blue scrubs, WTW believes it''s important to attract some members of the public attention to the recent crop of would-

The first season of HBO starts on Thursday, October 6, at 9 pm ET/PT on ABC. The episode will be available on Hulu for the next day.
