Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle, confesses that he would have liked to see Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) return for the soap''s 50th anniversary.
Aaron and Robert were one of ''''the most famous couples of recent years, and their turbulent relationship went down in soap history.
After having an affair, the couple married in 2018, but their marriage came to an end when Robert was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) after he sexually assaulted his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).
Danny is due to return as Aaron for a short stint to commemorate the soap''s 50th anniversary, but he revealed that he had intended for his former lover Robert to make a comeback and even had an outlandish notion of how it would have happened.
"Yes, it would have been nice," he told What To Watch and other media: "Yes, Jane and the team stated that the 50th would be packed with action, but I was still on vacation at the time.
"I kind of imagined there''d be a weird action-packed game where Aaron might come up and kidnap Robert out of prison, but I was actually talking to Ryan. But no, it''d been really nice to have him back, but it''s almost impossible."
Even if Robert has been sent down for life, Danny made the point that there are always ways for people to return in the soap world it is after all!
Danny said that "Well soap characters have done it before and they come back six years later, and there are always ways and means in soap."
Aaron returns to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) in the midst of a secret encounter with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) behind her husband Paddy Kirk''s (Dominic Brunt) back.
Danny explains how Aaron would feel if he were to expose his mother''s scandal.
"It''s tough to look out for, because I believe everybody loves Paddy and Chas, especially Aaron, as the father of Aarons eyes he was apprehended him of a life really and Paddy gave him one and cared for him even when he and Chas separated.
"I think it would be worse in Aarons eyes if Paddy was cheating, but Chas would be angry than Paddy, according to him. So yes, he''s got strong convictions, but he''s not sure why.
On ITV, the week continues from 7.30pm for full listings, according to ourTV Guide.
