How to Increase Your Chances of Exotic Armour dropping from a Lost Sector

Daily Lost Sectors are faced with many difficulties, and this affects the odds of an exotic armour being awarded at completion.

  • Legend Difficulty has a recommended Power of 1570, and will feature several mission modifiers to make the encounter more difficult. Exotic armour is a rare reward for completing this difficulty.
  • Master Difficulty has a recommended power of 1600, and has even more challenge-increasing modifiers. Exotic armours are a common reward at this difficulty.

It''s also important to note that while you can handle these difficult Lost Sectors with a team, you must be solo to receive the outrageous rewards.

Look out for the following icon on plantary destinations to see today''s Lost Sector:

Bear in mind that when playing the highlighted Lost Sector, there is no guarantee the Exotic armour will drop on any given completion. The good news is that you may re-run the Lost Sectors in hopes of more luck on a subsequent attempt.

Some Lost Sectors are more complicated than others, so if you are hunting a specific piece of exotic armour, such as Legs, and finding one level too difficult, you may always target a different day offering the same benefit.

Tips and tricks for completing solo Legend and Master Lost Sectors

The objective of the Lost Sectors is simple: defeat the boss at the end of the day and open the reward chest. These are designed to be a difficult challenge for even the most experienced Destiny 2 players.

If you do not intend for them, champions are plentiful and the modifiers can be shambles. However, there are a few things you can do to increase your chances of success.

First, make sure you have all of your power levels.

If you aren''t a high enough Power Level to deal with the challenge, no advice will save you. This will directly affect your ability to give and receive damage.

Most players should not take on Legend or Master Lost Sectors until they are the recommended power level or higher.

Plan your loadout very carefully.

The hidden sectors are locked inside, so you cant change equipment when you are inside.

Always remember to hand out weapons designed to match their specific abilities. The Match Game modifier will significantly reduce your ability to break shields that don''t watch the element type of your weapons, and you should take advantage of the harmful boosting burns.

Respect your lifestyle and timer.

The Legend and Master Lost Sectors have a lives system. Every time you die and respawn, it consumes one person''s life. And if you die when you are out of life, then you are sent back to orbit. Defeating Champions adds a life.

It may be tempting to be extremely conservative, but there is a timer. Once the zero number, all of your bonus lives are forfeited, and you will only have one chance to make it to the end alive.

Prioritize your objectives and fight strategically.

Champions are very lethal, but they are susceptible to being hampered if you employ the correct weapon and mod combination.

While you mop up the weaker targets, you can use it to your advantage, and temporarily eliminate big guns. Reduce the number of actions you may want to kill. Eliminate melee fighters that can easily pull you out of cover as soon as possible, and be willing to spend your heavy ammo or super if you are overwhelmed.

Be willing to try, quit, and try again.

Sometimes the setup you thought was perfect just doesn''t do it. There''s no need to keep bashing your head against the same stubborn target. Make sure you keep your setup up even more survivability, using abilities that can keep you safe and weapons that allow you to chip away at a distance.

If you are running out of time, consider a more aggressive build, like rockets or a sword that can instantly wipe out tedious enemies. And, if the burn is arc, get Riskrunner.
