Details about Steam''s next autumn, winter, and spring sales have been released, and yes, that spring sale date has been used to replace the previous Lunar New Year celebration.
Steam''s Autumn Sale is now open, which runs from 22nd to 29th November.
Valve will keep its annual Winter Sale from 22nd December to 5th January rescheduled.
The newly-titled Spring Sale will be held from 16th to 23rd March in 2023.
Valve has revealed that its response to feedback that the event was often located too soon following its huge winter sale on the retired Lunar New Year Sale.
"We''ve first launched a Lunar New Year sale on Steam back in 2016 to honor the influx of game developers and customers from Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, and South Korea. "Over the years, we''ve received feedback that Lunar New Year was often far too close to the December holiday sale period.
"We think many publishers will still be able to discount games during the Lunar New Year celebration, using custom discount tools. We believe that customers will benefit greatly by a little more time between the huge Steam seasonal sales."
