The Isle of Cats board game series consists of players who help rescue kitties from the fire

In its next spiritual sequel, Isle of Cats, the tile-laying board game of competitive cat-rescuing, is putting players on a side to save kitties from a burning island.

Follow-up to Frank Wests 2019 sleeper hit, which saw players carefully arranging tiles representing members of feline families in order to fit as many cats onto their boat as possible by following maps, and collecting fish to lure kitties onto their ark.

Race to the Raft, a cooperative approach torescuing kitties, was used when The Isle of Cats was competitive.

This time around, the titular island is on fire - honestly, these cats cant get a break - requiring up to four players to guide their cats to safety during the fire and the flames.

The players must avoid and maintain paths by laying down their tiles, avoiding or controlling the flames that slide over the board.

The game will include over 80 unique scenarios as they discuss their intentions as a group before trying to crack each puzzle with their individual actions. A solo mode will also be included, and playthroughs will last around 40 to 60 minutes.

Race to the Raft is going to Kickstarter on October 18th, ahead of a planned release next year.
