In a PlayStation Blog post, Sony has officially launched the PlayStation Stars loyalty program in Japan and other Asian regions. Besides, the program will only be accessible via the PlayStation smartphone app. Several areas, including North America and Europe, will also benefit from the program starting in October. Although the program is freely available, it is only available on the app. A console version of the app will be released at a later date.
PlayStation Stars will be available in Asian regions as of September 29, 2022, followed by Europe on October 13, 2022. The only requirement for signing up to PlayStation Stars is a adult PlayStation Network account.
PS Plus members may earn PS Stars points through PlayStation Store purchases. These include PS Plus subscription payments. These include PayPal payments. Players may redeem collectibles, games, and even PSN wallet funds on the Hong Kong PSN Store. Games like and are redeemable for points.
Hit Play/1994 will assist players in launching games based on music cues. Generally, the collectibles will be purely cosmetic and cannot be traded between them. Various rewards include a monthly check-in program which rewards players for starting any game once every month.
PlayStation Stars will be available in Japan and Asia and will begin in the United States on October 5, 2022, and Europe on October 13, 2022. It is available on iOS and Android devices via the PlayStation App. A console version is in development.
