A local village for local people

This weekend, anyone interested in a little bit of a slow burn scare would do a research on Cloak & Dagger Games'' latest release, which is now available on PC via Steam and GOG.com.

The tale of Thomasina Bateman, who is traveling the length and broad of the countryside to discover the many barrows of Victorian England, is enthused in folk horror charms.

While her trips have brought about a variety of interesting things and characters, Bateman''s arrival in Bewlay takes a particularly depressing turn as our unintentionally hero enters the remote area of the village. She discovers the mystery surrounding the area and its highly unintentional community.

Choosing atmosphere, mood, and endless dread over the genres well-worn trope of tired jump scares, blends mystery, exploration, and a sense of ancient malevolence to weave its tale, beckoning the player in with its intriguing locale, a creepy cast of characters, and a plucky, daring protagonist. It looks to be a real sleeper hit of the year, and is well worth checking out for those who like their ghostly goings-on a little.

Steam and GOG.com are now available on PC.
