Season 7 of Queen Sugar: The next episode, the next trailer, and all we know about the Ava DuVernay drama

Season 7 of Queen Sugar: The next episode, the next trailer, and all we know about the Ava DuVernay

It''s difficult to believe that has entered its last chapter. Over the past few years, viewers have fallen in love with the program for its relatable family dynamics, its navigation of Black culture (particularly in the south) and its ability to interweave sometimes divisive topics into the fabric of a very well-written drama.

In a statement on Oprah Daily (opens in a new tab), writer Ava DuVernay spoke about the past seven seasons of the show.

"To write and produce seven seasons of a modern drama centered on a Black family is a radical act in our society and a triumph that has far exceeded every hope I held. Now I think the story, which began as a sunrise of a suggestion from Oprah, is ready for its sunset as a dream fully realized. has been one of my biggest joys, and my gratitude is tremendous and boundless."

Season 7 of this blog will include all of us who know it.

When will the Queen Sugar season 7 release date be announced?

Fans of Season 7 have so far not dreadged as they prepare to say goodbye to the popular drama. While Charley''s presence has been sorely missed, other Bordelon family members have quite the interesting storylines happening at the moment.

Episode 4 of "Spaces Fill" starts on Tuesday, September 27, at 8 pm ET/PT. Here''s how to start the episode:

"While traveling to DC, Darla sees a friend who brings back memories of a night she''s wished she''d forgotten. In St. Jo, Ralph Angel tries to save Parthena''s land, and Prosper and Sandy make an unusual decision."

Queen Sugar season 7 cast

The majority of the major players of the Bordelon family (and their extended family) are returning for season 7 of the show. Given that each of the actors had a lot going on in their television lives, this is good news for fans wanting to see some type of "closure" for each of them. Here''s a list of actors that form the cast.

  • Rutina Wesley (, ) as Nova Bordelon
  • Kofi Siriboe (, ) as Ralph Angel Bordelon
  • Nicholas L. Ashe (, ) as Micah West
  • Bianca Lawson (, ) as Darla Sutton
  • Tina Lifford (l, ) as Violet Bordelon
  • Omar J. Dorsey (, ) as Hollywood Desonier
  • Henry G. Sanders (, ) as Prosper Denton
  • Ethan Hutchinson (, ) as Blue Bordelon

Dawn-Lyen Gardner (, ) who plays Charlotte "Charley" Bordelon West will not be a part of season 7 as a series regular as reported in Variety (opens in new tab) however, she will be featured in some capacity.

Tammy Townsend (who plays Billie Denton for this season''s final season) should be expected to benefit viewers. By the looks of things, she''ll be engaging in a massive role in the fight against farmers.

Queen Sugar season 7 plot

The rest of season 6 will include a number of ideas to explore. For example, Nova and Dominic (McKinley Freeman) should have a strong relationship to follow. Hopefully, this week, the two will develop a strong connection. Dominic joins in or is surprised?

It''s a bit of fun to see the young baby girl welcomed by Ralph Angel and Darla last season. This is especially given the recent financial difficulties the husband and wife have faced. Many people are concerned about what this means for Ralph Angel''s future.

In season 7, viewers may expect to see the constant relationship between Hollywood and Vi, Micah''s continuing adulting journey and young Blue, who is constantly trying to figure his place as a new big brother.

Even if Charley isn''t a regular series in the upcoming episodes, viewers may expect a conclusion story arch.
