Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Dingle on television, has admitted that he would wish to see Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) comeback for the soap''s 50th anniversary.
Aaron and Robert were one of the "most famous couples" in recent years, and their tension over the couple went down in soap history.
After having an affair, the couple married in 2018, but their marriage came to an end when Robert was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the murder of Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) after he sexually assaulted his sister, Victoria (Isabel Hodgins).
Danny is set to take over as Aaron for a short break to commemorate the soap''s 50th anniversary. He revealed that he had planned for Robert to make a comeback and even had an outlandish idea for it.
"Yes, it''s been nice, Jane and the team said there was going to be a lot of action-packed content for the 50th, which there is, but I was still on holiday at the time."
"I kind of imagined there would be a crazy action-packed event in which maybe Aaron might come up and kidnap Robert out of prison, but it was simply stupid talk, I was actually telling Ryan about it. But no, he would have had his return, but it''s almost impossible."
Even if Robert has been sent back for life, Danny explained that there are always options for people to return to the soap world it is after all!
"Well soap icons have done it before," Danny adds, adding that "they come back six years later, and there are always ways and means in soap."
Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is in the midst of a secret relationship with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) behind her husband Paddy Kirk''s (Dominic Brunt) back.
Danny explained how Aaron would feel if he were to expose his mother''s scandal.
"It''s tough to watch, because I think everybody loves Paddy and Chas, especially Aaron, as Paddy is his father in Aarons eyes, his dad robbed him of a life really, Paddy gave him one and looked after him even when he and Chas split up.
"He came out to Paddy and Paddy facilitated him deal with his sexuality and self-harm stuff. I think it would be worse in Aarons eyes than Paddy, given that he would be angrier at Chas cheating than Paddy cheating. So yes, hes got strong feelings, but he will not regret it at all. "
