George Rainsford, star of Casualty, reveals a new role away from the soap

As he shared his new acting role, George Rainsford, who plays Ethan Hardy in the medical drama, has swapped the ER for the stage.

The television sensation, who is rumoured to depart, has revealed that he will play a role in the stage play and will play Peter James'' famous detective DSI Roy Grace (played on television by John Simm in ITV''s ).

Clive Mantle and former winner Giovanna Fletcher play Curtis and Cleo Morey in the play.

The stage adaptation of best-selling author Peter James''s crime thriller book series and follows Detective Superintendent Roy Grace and Cleo Morey on their first holiday.

Cleo hopes she''ll have the time with Grace and his crime-solving escapades, but their escape plunges into a hell holiday as the past restores.

George told StageChat that he can''t wait to be a part of a theatre ensemble again and look into the thrilling criminal underworld of Peter James. It will be a huge honor to get to play Roy Grace, his most renowned detective design.

Ethan, who has been diagnosed with Huntington''s disease, was a part of an emotional and heartbreaking reunion earlier this year when his ex-fiancee Fenisha Khatri (Olivia D''Lima) tragically died in a car crash on their wedding day.

George is well-known for playing Jimmy Wilson in the games since 2014.
