The last major update for Call of Duty: Warzone has arrived, two-and-a-half years after the phenomenally popular battle royale was launched and changed the series for the first time.
Following the successful launch of 2019''s Modern Warfare soft reboot, Warzone was an overnight phenomenon fuelled by lockdowns that made billions of dollars for Activision.
Three major maps have been recorded: Verdansk, Rebirth, and Caldera, as well as an sometimes awkward integration with Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard, and crossovers with some of the most famous names in popular culture.
In a blog post, Warzone announces a 6GB mid-season five update that includes a final set of quality of life improvements and a "greatest hits" package of modes. Playlist rotations are expected to occur once per week.
Here''s a hint: "Warzone Stories" calling cards. These are available for use as a thank you to Warzone''s famous meta weapons, including names from the Grau and the DMR 14 from the Cold War.
When you load into Warzone, the final season five update includes a new cinematic outro from Butcher.

All of this is going on until the October launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the November launch of Warzone 2.0., which has been criticized by some Warzone players because it improves inventories and progression.
