Last month saw the horrific return of cheeky chappie Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and he''s wasted no time trying to restore his ex-wife Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).
If ruining her wedding to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) wasn''t enough, Alfie is still adamant to win Kat''s heart and takes drastic measures to show his love for him.
Alfie makes a small gesture for Kat as she discovers where the flowers came from, and Alfie''s hopes of swoon Kat soon disappear.
There is no doubt that Alfie will come up with more extravagant ideas to impress Kat, but Shane did reveal that "Alfie is still burning a candle for Kat" while talking to What To Watch.
"Alfie is still burning a candle for Kat and he attempts to convince her that she feels the same. Twenty years later, there is still a chill there," he said.
Alfie has been meeting his usual demands on the Square, ranging from selling his "luxury" boat on the market, to attempting to defeat his and Kat''s children after years away.
Shane also stated that his return would see Alfie''s much-loved lighthearted Alfie''s return with floral shirts and leather jackets.
"I tell you what you want to wear," Chris [Clenshaw said, "What do you want the flowery shirts and everything," and he said, "I am a bloke in my 50s now!" And then I met up with Tony Jordan, who was the creator of the Mitchells, the Moons, and the Slaters back in the day, and he dressed in a flowery shirt and leather jacket and boots on and was so happy, "Oh okay, it''s okay for
"And so Chris was instrumental in writing me the long-term narrative with Alfie, and it''s the old Alfie, you know the guy who cared for his Nana Moon and wore his heart on his forehead, and strives to make light of everything, but you know through his own innocence and naivety still gets it wrong."
