Ubisoft says it is attempting to "bring the games you own on Stadia to PC."
Ubisoft said in a statement over the weekend that it didn''t have "specific details" on the proposal but would disclose them "at a later date," along with additional information for Ubisoft+ subscribers.
"While Stadia will be closed on January 18, 2023, we''re happy to announce that we''re working to bring Stadia''s games to PC via Ubisoft Connect," Ubisoft tweeted.
"We''ll have more to share with you on certain details as well as the implications for Ubisoft+ subscribers in a future date," says the author.
While Stadia will be shut down on January 18, 2023, we''re happy to share that we''re working to bring Stadia''s PC games to the PC through Ubisoft Connect. We''ll have additional information about the impact on Ubisoft+ subscribers at a later date.
Some supporters object to the proposal, claiming that they''d prefer to have their Ubisoft+ subscription reimbursed rather than switch it to PC.
"And what about those who couldn''t afford a gaming PC and purchased a Stadia as a solution to that?" asked one twitterer in the comments. "Will those people be entitled to any compensation for having their games taken from them if they can''t access them on PC?"
"Stadia is not shut down," Google said when asked off immediately if the closure was imminent back in June. Three months later, the cloud gaming service declared it would close on 18th January 2023, according to reports - things that even developers still working on Google Stadia projects had not expected.
