After its first season, Shenmue The Animation has been canceled

What would be the most appropriate ending for Shenmue''s anime adaptation? It''s also possible that the story will be denied, and the entire process will be completed. So it is: Shenmue The Animation isn''t getting a season two.

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted that the anime had been removed from Adult Swim''s website, causing Jason DeMarco, the head of anime/action at Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios, to confirm the news on Twitter.

"Sorry guys. This happened," said DeMarco. "You can still see all of Crunchyroll and it will still be available as digital downloads. And yes, its like no S2 of Shenmue, though, it did well enough that we were gearing up for S2. Perhaps one day..."

The first season of 13 episodes had premiered back in February. The anime follows Ryo''s early efforts to avenge his father''s death. It''s a story that remains incomplete - and even the crowdfunded Shenmue 3 gave up the possibility to resolve it.

Shenmue The Animation was significantly more modern - and less expensive - than likes of Arcane or Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. More importantly, I don''t know anyone who watched it. If you want to see it, you may stream all episodes for free from Crunchyroll with English subtitles.
