DICE is "winding down" future development on Battlefield 2042''s Hazard Zone, according to the studio.
The studio said it had "great ambition and high hopes" for the experience throughout our development, but said in Battlefield 2042 that it "hasnt found the right home." Instead, the team will now shift its focus and energy to the modes players they love.
If Hazard Zone appears, it will remain in the game, but the team will only address critical errors and odd behaviors. In other words, don''t expect new experiences or content, and future maps will not support the mode.
The update reveals that the work on Renewal is "progressing well" and is expected to launch sometime after Season 1. DICE said the changes will improve much of the infantry experience on the map, which will help eliminate play spaces that stretched the gameplay into quieter spaces and focus the action on the map''s center.
Season 1 will begin in June, with four new episodes, four new Specialists, and new weapons and gadgets coming to Battlefield. A Battle Pass is coming to Battlefield, which promises to provide you with a chance to earn new gameplay items through free tiers and new cosmetic items across both free and premium tiers.
Season 1 will be released with a substantial update, not only adding fresh content to the game, but also adding new Quality of Life enhancements, fixes, and improvements.
