Danny, who lives on a remote property with his father Steve, has discovered that he has lived a lie and that the outside world is not full of harmful creatures, as he''s been led to believe.
Steve absconded with Danny when he was a baby in a warped attempt to keep his son safe. Eventually, he begins to question his friends life, causing him to grieve their sins. These are all things, which may make or disrupt him as he confronts the real world.
Danny, Rory Keenan, Dannys dad Steve, Lisa McGrillis, and Aaron Bottomley star as Aaron, Danny''s cousin, and Sue''s son.
With the horror of C4, his dad bought a house in the middle of nowhere, locked Danny in, declaring that the world outside was full of monsters waiting to take him away. In the same way, the couple took his mother.
Steve hoped he had done the right thing, bringing Danny up safe and warm, away from murderers and drogues, and governments and burgers and evil.
They stayed in for eighteen years, listening to Benny Goodman records, and watching old movies with no sad endings. And thats how Danny grew up. It was all he knew about it. And he was pleased.
Danny turns 18 and realizes everything he''s ever known - in an instant, and he must come to terms with a new world he never knew existed.

"The scripts are really powerful and it does a clever job of resolving this almost nonsense notion and crashing it into contemporary life." As the story unfolds, you discover even more about this past and the impact of losing his wife.
Sue McGrillis (Lisa McGrillis)
Sue, mother-of-three, is Dannys aunt and Steves sister, played by Lisa McGrillis, known for Hebburn, Inspector George Gently, No Offence, Mum, and King Gary.
Danny is taken to life with his well-meaning but stressed-out aunt Sue and his socially favorite 18-year-old cousin Aaron, according to C4 Press.

As Danny attempts to find the real monster, the one that murdered his mother, both Danny and Aaron start to emerge from their shells together.
Samuel wrote to us about Danny and Aaron''s relationship: "We were all very impressed."
Aaron is quite embarrassed when he first realizes that he is not a very confident character; he does not need anything else to be placed against him in terms of perception; he''s quite worried that Danny''s street cred will be knocked down further. However, Aaron''s new perspective is excellent. He needs someone who''s helped him out a bit more.

Somewhere Boy Season Two
Could there be a second series of The signs?
"Dannys'' journey is only beginning. There''s nothing resolved, he''s not been''solved,'' according to the creator. He''s still a youngster at odds with the world who will have to try and find his place in it. We have a lot of ideas," the author says.
"It''s so much fun despite the fact that the show is dark," Lewis says. Because if people had been too serious all day, I''d have felt very reassuring about them, and they''ve made genuine friendships with the crew. If Danny''s story had continued, then having them return to work would be fantastic, and I know Pete has had some suggestions."
Samuel insists that he would be up for playing Aaron again by the end of the series, thus I''d be interested in seeing where he will go.
"It''s difficult to get a full-body leather biker suit and helmet in 30 degree heat in a studio with a metal roof," Rory says. Although, getting that thing on and off was a three-man task, which really helped the insular, suicidal nature of everything. I''d be more than happy to get into that sweaty, dead cow again, even though Petes scripts would be fantastic for series two."
"Next, I''m making a six-part ITV drama in Liverpool about women returning to work after having children. Theyre doctors in the NHS frontline, trying to dismiss parenthood, and being a doctor. I''m very excited about it. I''d also like to do more. I''m aware that Pete would do it in a somewhat unconventional way."
