The servers of Nintendo Switch Sports are currently unavailable, due to a glitch resulting in the game''s last update.

Earlier this week, the Nintendo of America Twitter account posted a tweet to inform players that it would be taking down servers to investigate a problem with Nintendo Switch Sports. "A bug has been discovered in the Nintendo Switch Sports Ver1.2.1 update, which causes the software to close during the pre-match loading screen," said the tweet. "This is causing both online and offline play modes. We have therefore temporarily suspended the release of this update."

In a follow-up message, Nintendo continued: "While we investigate to find a solution, Nintendo Switch Sports servers will be temporarily removed off the grid during this time. Save data backup is also temporarily suspended. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience."

Nintendo has first reported on the bug on October 14, and hasn''t stated when it expects to return servers to work, nor has it provided any update on the progress it has made.

Switch Sports has continuously updated the game since it was introduced, particularly in the summer when it added in several new volleyball moves, leg strap support for football matches, as well as the addition of an S Rank and Infinity Rank in the Pro League.

According to VG247''s review of Nintendo Switch Sports, "One can see how Nintendo might''ve done more new things, and included more all-new things." Nintendo Switch Sports is pretty much exactly what I wanted, but it''s possible to see how it would be one of my absolute favourite games of the year. That''s Nintendo''s power."

Switch Sports came out a bit of a surprise, as it developed quite a while after the original Wii Sports, which Nintendo took the time to explain the reason back in May.
