Elite Raids Reintroduce Back-In-Person Raiding to Pokemon GO

Elite Raids will be in-person-only raids that are now already in-game as of today. These Elite Raids appear as "Mysterious Raid Eggs," which will last for 24 hours before the hatch.

Here''s what Niantic has to say about Elite Raids in:

Elite Raid Battles consist of a variety of Raid Eggs that take 24 hours to hatch. Defeat Hoopa Unbound and you''ll be given an opportunity to take part in Elite Raids. Please note that the first raid of Elite Raids will begin at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m. local time on October 16th, 2022.

This style of raiding is somewhat similar to that of EX Raids, which were invite-only raids sent to active players. Players would be invited to these special raids, which included several species than those encountered in Tier Five raids at the time.

This is Niantic''s main objective, namely: to improve in-person learning rather than eliminating the elements of normal raids.
