Season 11 is on its way! The BBC has decided to bring their beloved school drama back to life after nearly seven years away.

When it was released, the award-winning contemporary school show was easily among the best BBC dramas. Originally, it was based at a comprehensive school in Rochdale in Greater Manchester before it was relocated to Greenock in Scotland for the final three seasons. It centered on the drama between pupils and the teaching staff who helped them throughout their time at the Waterloo Road school.

The new series is once again set in Greater Manchester and is expected to bring a whole new generation of fans to the award-winning drama.

Cameron Roach is directing a new series, which features Rope Ladder Fiction and Wall To Wall, that will enrich the thrills and spills that many viewers experienced during the 200-episode run.

Three well-loved characters will reprise their roles in the new series in January, according to the BBC.

Angela Griffin will reprise her role as Kim Campbell, who will return to Waterloo Road as the school''s new headteacher.

Angela spoke to The Daily Star about Kim''s return at the Pride of Manchester Awards, saying, "It''s bloody fantastic, she''s very different this time." What''s happened to Kim in the last six years? It''s time to get to know him before it comes back.

"She''s a different person, very well, things have happened, and everything comes out when we return," she said.

While they were enrolled at the school as students, Adam Thomas and Katie Griffiths are also returning to play Donte and Chlo Charles. They''re still together, although their relationship was nothing but smooth.

"I feel really honoured to be joining the new series of Kims," Angela Griffin said of the novel''s journey back to the present day. "I cant wait to investigate her life, character, and how she has evolved since we met her last day." The writers have fantastic stories planned and I''m looking forward to welcoming viewers back to Waterloo Road.

We''ve discovered who else will be taking on roles in the staff room since Kym Marsh, who played Michelle Connor for 13 years, is playing Nicky Walters, a school canteen worker who is also a mother to two pupils.

Coffey takes on the role of Wendy Whitwell, PA, according to Headteacher Kim Campbell, while Vincent Jerome plays Lindon King, the new headteacher.

Shauna Shim is music teacher Valerie Chambers, star Neil Fitzmaurice is history teacher Neil Guthrie, and Rachel Leskovacis Coral Walker, head of English, and Katherine Pearce, an early career teacher, play Amy Spratt.

Ryan Clayton, an ex-star, is also involved in the show. He posted a photo of a sign on his dressing room door that revealed him playing a character named Mike.

The BBC reveals on February 21, which young actors will be playing the pupils in season 11.

Tina O''Brien, Scarlett ThomasAdam Thomas'' niece and daughter of a former actress, is following in her family''s footsteps and playing Donte and Chlo Charles'' daughter, Izzy, in the film.

Scarlett isn''t Adam''s only relative in the season 11 cast, as Adam Thomas'' real-life son had joined because to ''unusual circumstances'' leading to a last-minute casting change. Teddy Thomas is playing Izzy''s younger brother.

Adam Abbou () as Danny Lewis, Priyasasha Kumari () as Preston Walters, Adam Ali () as Kai Sharif, newcomer Alicia Forde as Kelly-Jo Rafferty, and Francesco Piacentini-Smith () as Dean Weever.
