The fake Simpsons Waterworld game was brought to life by an indie character

The Simpsons is filled with bizarre jokes, and sometimes some of them are about video games, such as Millhouse''s time playing a Waterworld game. Now you can play it!

Waterworld is a post-apocalyptic world that will fly over the year 2000, where water levels have increased by two hundred percent. Millhouse is now playing an arcade game adaptation of The Simpsons, which requires 40 quarters, a regular amount to play for an arcade game. It was also a small downplay in the original episode.

"I''ve always been fascinated by the fake graphics that were often seen in The Simpsons, and the Waterworld one always stuck out to me as a kid," Macaw45 writes in the game page''s description. "Of course it''s just a short joke poking fun at how costly the production of the movie at the time, but this monster game itself with its gigantic Kevin Costner protagonist on the screen always made me so eager to know ''what would be beyond that one screen you see in the show."

Macaw45 added some of their own interpretation by going beyond what was initially shown, as mentioned in the description, and establishing a more fleshed out Waterworld game for everyone to enjoy.

Funnily enough, this isn''t the first Waterworld video game to exist. Among them were the SNES, the Game Boy, and the Virtual Boy, both of whom were distinct from one another, so there''s plenty to choose from if you''re planning a Waterworld themed evening.
