At this point, youre is certainly well-accredited with Scorn''s biomechanical experience, and you have, hopelessly, begun to comprehend the language of this strange environment a bit more. Act 4 feels particularly straightforward in terms of puzzles, but this is where your combat abilities may feel a little more necessary.
Most enemies are worth coaxing out and running away from, according to this guide. It is always worth saving your ammo and healing resources where you can in Scorn, and many enemies are often avoided for the most part. Those who spray acid at you might pose a greater threat.
Regardless, take this as your spoiler warning for the following, and here''s our guide to making Act 4 of Scorn!
How do I complete Act 4 of Scorn?
Act 4, like Act 3, consists of only one component, which is the most effective way to get things started right now.
Continue going after taking the big elevator and being slammed out in Act 4 of Scorn. In this instance, you may head left or right; in this instance, go right. However, lots of acid-spitting aliens will be there.
Eventually, youll be faced with some stairs in front of you and to your left. Go forward, and a two-handed pillar will be to your left.
Interact with the pillar and then the bulging mass in front of you that appears to be a large, loose-skinned alien. Immediately after that does its thing, a chicken-like alien will appear on your right and begin plowing at you. Take care of it, and then proceed down the stairs to your immediate right. Youll arrive at another pillar with a maze above it.
Interact with the pillar and the maze will ascend. U-turn and youll see that there are another set of stairs beside those you just encountered. Walk up the unfamiliar stairs.
You will want to follow this path round until you reach some more steps to climb. Along this route, there are a lot of smaller enemies attempting to attack you, so take caution. You may look into the area shown below, where you can choose to go left, forward, or right.
The dead end is a dead end, but to your left, youll be able to find another crab-stabbing heals machine to complete your heals. Directly in front of this machine is another pillar, shown below. Interact with it and then interact with the bulbous part of the alien creature that has the open wound on it.
Im gonna start naming this huge creature Nelly from now on, as it appears to be appropriate, and as well as becoming more polite.
Then, take caution of the smaller aliens closing in on you. Up the path just behind this area is another door that you won''t have access to yet. Keep your location in mind for later.
Return to the earlier intersection and head the final way you haven''t yet made: forwards. Follow the gentle cutscene, you may turn left or right. Interact with this tool to begin the puzzle, but you may notice that you cant quite complete it yet. Again, note this location and well return to it later.
Head along the path behind the maze machine. There is here and to the left another door that you cannot yet access. However, there are two more machines ahead: one will upgrade your healing crab, and the other will upgrade your weapon again.
The next obstacle to the right is to a bully of an alien, who can be taken out with two shots of your new weapon. At the end of the route, there is a lever you can activate, which will take you up a lift. Again, be cautious, but additional enemies will remain.
Take a right. From here on out, you can safely assume that alien enemies will be wherever you go. Again, I recommend using stealth and running wherever you can to preserve your ammo.
Continue on, and keep left. When you enter a room with a bully alien, take an immediate right, and then leave again. Its confusing, but you should look at the machine picture below, which will upgrade your key, giving you access to the doors we discovered earlier.
The bully alien returns to the area and at the end of the room (past him) is a door that you can now unlock and go through. This spits you back out by the crab-stabbing heals machine and pillar from earlier. What you want to do now is go toward the maze machine from earlier.
If you encounter the maze machine on the other hand, look into the area labelled. There''s a pedestal here that fits your newly-upgraded key. Interact with it, and the gate will move, finally giving you permission to travel along the new stairwell you somehow constructed by making one of the Nellys pustular masses explode.
You will encounter a second maze puzzle. Interact with the lever in front to see it ascend and join the first maze you moved. Now, you might know it, there is another maze that needs to be discovered and moved before we can finally solve the whole maze puzzle shabang.
Make your way down to the area where the two maze puzzles are set, and take the path behind them again. Instead of entering the room with the healing and weapon upgrade machines, take a left, and youll be met with the below gate. Go ahead and unlock it.
Youll arrive at another elevator. Use the lever and head on up. There''s an alien near the top, and a pillar for your melee weapon; interact with it, and another gate will move.
Instead of heading to the newly-moved gate, the U-turn takes you back to the exact same crossroads area I keep mentioning. There is also a second route behind the elevator to go down!
Keep up the good work, take care of the bully alien, and avoid using the crab-stabbing heals machine thats along the way. Youll arrive at another elevator, and you will know what to do here.
Be sure to look behind you for Nelly when she''s on the lookout. Im sure she''s just trying to say hello rather than scare us into bleakness.
Turn back around and head forward. Youll reach another pillar; interact with it, interact with another one of Nellys bulbous lumps, and then youre good to go.
Head back down the lift and head forward; take caution of aliens, and the newly-created path from the Nellys lump will be on your right. Head down it.
You''ll find a lever and a third maze machine, interact with the lever, then send the machine up, and take the following route.
These maze puzzles ended up being more guesswork and plenty of trial and error. Basically, the white ball you move on one maze and will also move on the other mazes. This is to your advantage to avoid getting the white ball into previously inaccessible paths on the mazes.
Each maze is sorted by one method, which, according to the author, is not really mazes. Remember that it''s simpler than you think, really, and that most balls will only need one or two spots before moving onto the next maze.
It''s possible that you want to aim for each ball in the upper right-hand corner of the maze. So, here''s all you need to do is clear the maze. It''s perhaps the easiest puzzle of all the ones we have encountered so far.
The entrances to the maze puzzles have closed, and it appears that the platform youre on is moving. Head up the furthest stairs to your left, and follow the long, winding path it sends you on.
Approach the pillar it forces you to face after a small cutscene when coming into a tight corridor. Begin learning and enjoy your extra-terrestrial train journey.
Once the train arrives, take the stairs ahead of you. Make your way to the entrance of a certain sort of alien meat palace.
Approach the palace, and youll discover that you have completed Act 4 and are starting Act 5.
