The servers for Nintendo Switch Sports are down, although there is no return date yet

The Nintendo Switch Sports servers are currently offline, as a result of the most recent update.

The Nintendo of America Twitter account posted a tweet earlier this week to make players aware that it would take down servers to investigate an issue with Nintendo Switch Sports. "A bug has been discovered in the Nintendo Switch Sports Ver1.2.1 update, which causes the software to close during the pre-match loading screen," said the tweet. "This is causing both online and offline play modes. We have therefore temporarily suspended the release of this update."

Nintendo continued in a follow-up tweet: "While we investigate to provide a solution, Nintendo Switch Sports servers will be temporarily taken offline and online play will not be available during this time. A backup data is also temporarily suspended. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience."

Nintendo was first informed on the bug on October 14, and hasn''t confirmed when it expects to return servers on the market, nor has it provided any update on the situation.

Switch Sports is continually updating the game since it was introduced, particularly in the summer when it included some fresh volleyball moves and leg strap support for football matches, as well as the addition of an S Rank and Infinity Rank in the Pro League.

According to VG247''s review of Nintendo Switch Sports, the game was highly popular, giving it four out of five stars, saying, "One can see how Nintendo might have done more new, and included more all-new stuff." Yet... Nintendo Switch Sports is pretty much exactly what I wanted. I can see how it would be one of the year''s top best games. That''s Nintendo''s power."

Switch Sports was a bit of a surprise, as it came out quite a while after the original Wii Sports, which Nintendo took the time to explain in May.
