In the Owen Hart Tournament, Hikaru Shida has been replaced by Kris Statlander

On AEW''s last night''s episode, Hikaru Shida will be replaced by Kris Statlander. AEW said the announcement seemed to come as a surprise to Shida, who later dismissed her initial comments.

On Monday, Tony Schiavone informed Red Velvet that she will meet her old friend, Kris Statlander, in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. The storyline is that Shida was hurt in her recent street fight with Serena Deeb.

Shida answered twitter to question her injury and break kayfabe on the plotline, pointing out that she''s played several times since the street fight.

Well, I''ve already had four games after the street fight and just finished the greatest fighting musical show. I suspect that injured Japanese wrestling isn''t for them. I''m sorry. And sorry that no one will be in the tournament.

Kris is in the tournament today, and I''m going to try to enjoy some very special holidays in Japan, because it has been a while before I had. Be positive!

Shida''s remarks sparked speculation that Shida and AEW may have met pressure, but Shida informed them about her departure from the tournament in the same way we all did. But she revealed that she was in no time to complete the required physical to wrestle next week. Shida encouraged supporters to cheer on Statlander and vowed to return to the AEW.
